Why and how is Singpass Face Verification used?

Singpass Face Verification is used to verify and authenticate an individual's identity whether they are who they claim to be, at a specific moment, for a specific action he/she intends to carry out.

This is done by comparing your captured photo taken during the Singpass Face Verification process, against your records on the government’s biometric database.

How to trigger Singpass Face Verification at account opening?

• Instead of login to Singpass via Singpass app, use password login.

• Input your Singpass ID and password.

• Grant MariBank and Singpass permission to access the camera.

• Toggle to Face Verification and click Begin Scan.

Facial scans will be handled securely by the Government Technology Agency of Singapore (GovTech) and will not be stored by MariBank.
