What are the payment rail limits for transfers to China?

For Alipay transfers,

• A single transfer is capped at CNY 30,000
• A maximum of CNY 800,000 for ‘Family Support (to Close Relatives)’ or ‘Savings (to Self Only)’ can be received by the same recipient per year, across all overseas Alipay transfers
• For 'Payments for Goods', a maximum of CNY 600,000 can be received by the same recipient per year, across all overseas Alipay transfers
• For ‘Payment for Service’, a maximum of CNY 300,000 can be received by the same recipient per year, across all overseas Alipay transfers

For UnionPay transfers,

• A single transfer is capped at CNY 18,000
• The daily limit is capped at a maximum of USD 10,000 (or equivalent) and shared by the same recipient across all overseas UnionPay transfers
• The annual limit is capped at USD 50,000 (or equivalent) and shared by the same recipient across all overseas UnionPay transfers

For Weixin Pay (also known as WeChat Pay) transfers,

• A single transfer is capped at CNY 50,000
• The monthly limit is capped at a maximum 15 transfers and shared by the same recipient across all overseas transfers via Weixin Pay
• The annual limit is capped at CNY 800,000 and shared by the same recipient across all overseas Weixin Pay transfers
• The limit for Hong Kong and Macao residents with a valid Travel Permit are lower, with a single transfer capped at CNY 30,000 and a yearly limit capped at CNY 300,000 shared by the same recipient across all overseas Weixin Pay transfers.

For transfers into the Weixin Pay linked bank card, the yearly limit is capped at CNY 800,000. For transfers into the Weixin Pay wallet balance, the yearly limit will be capped at CNY 300,000.
