Why was my Singpass Face Verification unsuccessful?

Here are the common reasons for an unsuccessful Singpass Face Verification:

  • Camera was not angled directly at the user’s face.

  • User may be too far or too close to the camera.

  • Environment has poor lighting (too dark or too bright).

  • Camera permission is not enabled in the browser or device.


To improve the success of your facial scan, please ensure that:

  • Your whole face is not covered.

  • Your eyes can be clearly seen behind glasses (no tinted lenses or sunglasses).

  • Your environment is well-lit.

  • Stay still while scanning is in progress for a clear shot.
