What should I do to keep my account safe?

To keep your MariBank account safe, please take the following measures:

Keep your information secure

  • Be careful of suspicious links sent via messages or emails, as they may be designed to trick users into accessing fake websites to provide sensitive personal information. TIP: Type the URL of the website you wish to login into your browser instead of clicking on the link.

  • Do not reveal your login credentials, including password, Secure PIN, and/or OTP information. MariBank Staff will never ask for your login credentials.

  • Do note that MariBank will not send you any clickable links or hotline number via SMSes and emails.

Keep your password/ Secure PIN secure

  • Use a strong password and Secure PIN. Do not use personal information such as birth date as your login credentials.

  • Change your password and Secure PIN periodically (i.e. every 3 months).

  • Do not write down your password or Secure PIN on a piece of paper or in other means of storage that will compromise the safety of this information.

Keep your information updated

  • Update your account immediately when there is a change in your contact details. Your contact details such as mobile number and email are important to ensure you can receive One-Time Passwords (OTP) and notifications for online banking activities.

Keep your device secure

  • Only install apps from official app stores. Unofficial app stores may carry malicious apps that can compromise your confidential information. Examples of official app stores are Apple App Store, Google Play Store, or Huawei AppGallery.

  • Keep your device updated with the latest software updates. This helps to ensure that bugs and vulnerabilities are addressed.

If you suspect that your password and/or Secure PIN has been compromised, please immediately:

  • Change your password and/or Secure PIN.

  • Contact our 24-hour Customer Service hotline.
