Selection of a suitable transfer method depends on recipient's location and preference of receiving currency. The selection also depends on fees, transfer limit and speed. Below is a quick summary of the available transfer methods:
Wire Transfers
It is used for direct bank-to-bank transfers, covering most destinations.
Speed - Typically 1-3 business days for most destinations, may be longer depending on specific destinations.
Required information - The recipient full name, address, bank account, and bank SWIFT BIC. For more details, click here.
Fedwire Transfers
A special type of USD wire transfer. It is only applicable to recipient banks based in the United States of America.
Speed - Typically 1-3 business days.
Required information - The recipient full name, address, bank account, and bank Fedwire Routing Number or SWIFT BIC. For more details, click here.
Please note that your recipient may be charged an additional fee by their bank for incoming wire transfers based on market practice.
Automated Clearing House (ACH) Transfers
It is used for direct bank-to-bank transfers. Currently it is only applicable to USD transfers to recipient banks based in the United States of America.
Speed - Typically 1-3 business days.
Required information - The recipient full name, address, bank account, and bank ACH routing code. For more details, click here.
Alipay
It is used for CNY transfers to recipients in Mainland China.
Speed - Typically processed immediately
Required information - The recipient full name and Alipay user ID.
Please note that the recipient Alipay wallet needs to be activated with the in-app “跨境闪速收款“ (Cross-border Quick Collect) function. For more details, click here.
UnionPay
It is used for CNY transfers to recipients' UnionPay cards issued in Mainland China.
Speed - Typically processed immediately or within the next 12 hours.
Required information - The recipient full name and UnionPay card number.
Please note that the recipient needs to have a CNY denominated UnionPay card that is issued by a participating institution in Mainland China. For more details, click here.
Weixin Pay (also known as WeChat Pay)
It is used for CNY transfers to recipients in Mainland China, Hong Kong or Macao.
Speed - Typically processed immediately
Required information - The recipient's full name and recipient’s mobile number linked with recipient's WeChat / Weixin Pay account.
Please note that the recipient needs to hold a valid Chinese National ID or a valid Travel Permit in case of Hong Kong or Macao residents.
UPI
It is used for INR transfers to India
Speed - Typically immediate or within minutes
Required information - The recipient’s full name, IFSC Code, Bank Account Number and Address. Please note that we are unable to support UPI proxy at the moment and will require the recipient’s account number.
