1. The Promotion
1.1. The “MariBank 3.2% Savings Promotion” (the “Promotion”) is available from 28 February 2024 to 29 June 2024 (both dates inclusive) or any other period as determined by MariBank Singapore Private Limited (“MariBank”) in its absolute discretion (“Promotion Period”).
1.2. The Promotion is only open to the Eligible Customers (as defined in Clause 3.1). By participating in the Promotion, all participants are deemed to have accepted these Promotion Terms and Conditions.
2. Definitions
Unless otherwise defined in these Promotion Terms and Conditions, the following words and phrases shall have the meanings assigned to them:
2.1. “Affiliates” has the meaning given to such term in the General Personal Banking Terms and Conditions.
2.2. “Earmark” means to maintain the Earmark Deposit made under the Promotion Conditions set out at Clause 4.1 in the Mari Savings Account for the Earmark Period without any withdrawal (in whole or in part).
2.3. “Earmark Period” means the relevant minimum period that an Earmark Deposit made under the Promotion Conditions is to be Earmarked for as set out at Clause 4.1.
2.4. “Latest Deposit Date” means the relevant date that an Earmark Deposit is to be made under the Promotion Conditions set out at Clause 4.1.
2.5. “MariBank App” means the MariBank mobile banking application.
2.6. “Mari Savings Account” refers to the savings account opened by a customer with MariBank.
2.7. “Online Participation Form” means the form available on the MariBank App that an Eligible Customer will need to complete and submit to MariBank to register for this Promotion and provide his/her consent for his/her Earmark Deposit to be earmarked under Clause 4.1(b) below. For registration purposes, MariBank will require Eligible Customers to confirm that their MariBank Savings Account number and Singapore mobile number as registered with MariBank remain correct.
2.8. “Platform” means any websites or mobile applications owned, published or operated by MariBank, including the MariBank App.
2.9. “Promotion Invitation” means the push notification or in-app notification that is sent by MariBank at its absolute discretion to certain existing Mari Savings Account holders meeting the eligibility criteria under Clause 3.1 to invite them to participate in the Promotion. For the avoidance of doubt, the Promotion Invitation shall only be broadcast from 8 February 2024, and the frequency of such broadcast will be at MariBank’s determination.
2.10. “Reward” means a reward in cash to be credited into the Mari Savings Account by MariBank in the amounts as set out at Clause 5.1.
3. Eligibility
3.1. This Promotion is only open to eligible customers (“Eligible Customers”) who:
(a) hold an existing Mari Savings Account which is valid, subsisting and in good standing at all times as determined by MariBank in its absolute discretion;
(b) have enabled the option to receive marketing and promotional communications (including push notifications) from MariBank on their MariBank App; and
(c) have received a Promotion Invitation from MariBank at any time between:
(i) (in respect of Qualifying Period 1) 28 February 2024 to 13 March 2024 (both dates inclusive); or
(ii) (in respect of Qualifying Period 2) 14 March 2024 to 27 March 2024 (both dates inclusive).
4. Promotion Mechanics
4.1. The first 2,000 Eligible Customers who fulfil the following conditions set out below (“Promotion Conditions”) shall be entitled to receive a Reward under this Promotion:
(a) successfully deposit a minimum amount of either S$10,000, S$25,000 or S$50,000 into his/her Mari Savings Account (each, an “Earmark Deposit”) by the Latest Deposit Date corresponding to the relevant Qualifying Period set out in the table below;
(b) successfully register for this Promotion and provide consent to MariBank to Earmark the relevant Earmark Deposit pursuant to sub-paragraph (a) above by completing and submitting the Online Participation Form by the Latest Deposit Date referred to in sub-paragraph (a) above; and
(c) allow the Bank to Earmark such Earmark Deposit for the entirety of the Earmark Period relating thereto.
4.2. Any Eligible Customer who has provided his / her consent for MariBank to Earmark his / her Earmark Deposit for the relevant Earmark Period relating thereto via the Online Participation Form may withdraw his / her consent and/or request for the Earmarking of all of his/her Earmark Deposit to be cancelled at any time during such Earmark Period by contacting MariBank’s Customer Service Team. However, such participants shall be deemed to be disqualified from this Promotion, and shall not be eligible for any Reward (even if they subsequently fulfil the Promotion Conditions under Clause 4.1).
4.3. Eligible Customers who fulfil the Promotion Conditions under Clause 4.1 are only entitled to receive a maximum of one (1) Reward under each Qualifying Period, regardless of the number of times they may have satisfied the Promotion Conditions within such Qualifying Period.
4.4. If an Eligible Customer has submitted more than one (1) Online Participation Form at any time during the relevant Qualifying Period, MariBank reserves the right to only accept and rely on the latest Online Participation Form validly submitted to MariBank during the relevant Qualifying Period for earmarking purposes.
4.5. To better illustrate what MariBank may do where an Eligible Customer submits more than one (1) Online Participation Form under Clause 4.4 above:
4.6. MariBank reserves the right to reject any Online Participation Form stating incomplete or incorrect information, including where the amount that the Eligible Customer consents to be Earmarked as stated on such Online Participation Form differs from the Earmark Deposit amount actually deposited into his/her Mari Savings Account.
5. Reward
5.1. Eligible Customers who fulfil the Promotion Conditions set out under Clause 4.1 shall be entitled to receive a Reward in the amounts corresponding to the relevant Earmark Deposit amount as set out below:
5.2. If an Eligible Customer is entitled to receive a Reward under this Promotion:
(a) such Eligible Customer shall be notified by MariBank based on the notification channels that MariBank so determines; and
(b) such Reward shall be credited to such Eligible Customer’s Mari Savings Account within one (1) month from the end of the Promotion Period (or such other date as MariBank may determine in its sole discretion).
5.3. The Reward is not transferable or exchangeable for cash or credit or otherwise, and is not replaceable if lost or stolen.
5.4. MariBank reserves the right to substitute the Reward with any item of equivalent or similar value at any time and for any reason (including where the crediting of the Reward may exceed the maximum deposit on your Mari Savings Account), without prior notice or reason or being liable to any person. MariBank shall be under no obligation to disclose its reason or provide any explanation of the same.
5.5. If any Eligible Customer is subsequently discovered to be ineligible to participate in the Promotion or if the Mari Savings Account is closed within six (6) months of the end of the Promotion Period, MariBank reserves the right to (i) forfeit or withdraw the Reward at any time; or (ii) (where the Reward have been redeemed) procure the claw-back of the Reward or request the relevant customer to repay to or compensate MariBank the value of the Reward at any time, and MariBank shall have the right to debit the value of the Reward plus any goods and services tax or such other amount as it deems fit from the account(s) of the relevant customer.
5.6. No person shall be entitled to any payment or compensation from MariBank should any Reward be forfeited or withdrawn; if any Reward is reclaimed by MariBank; or if a customer is asked to repay or compensate MariBank the value of the Reward for whatsoever reasons.
6. General
6.1. MariBank may, at any time and at its sole and absolute discretion, terminate the Promotion and/or amend any of these Promotion Terms and Conditions without prior notice or reason, and all persons shall be bound by such amendments.
6.2. MariBank reserves the right in its sole and absolute discretion to determine all matters arising out of or in connection with the Promotion, including but not limited to the recipients of the Promotion Invitation; a MariBank customer’s eligibility to participate in the Promotion as an Eligible Customer or otherwise; whether the Promotion Conditions are satisfied and the eligibility for and allocation of the Reward. MariBank’s decision shall be final and no appeal and/or correspondence will be entertained.
6.3. By participating in this Promotion and in addition to any other consent already provided to MariBank and any right of MariBank under applicable laws, MariBank customers agree that MariBank may collect, use and disclose their personal data:
(a) to contact them by voice call, email or text message to obtain feedback and/or conduct research, analysis and development activities to improve its products, services and the Platform; and
(b) to its Affiliates for the purposes of this Promotion, including determining their eligibility for the Promotion, verifying their identities, contacting them, and administering the Reward.
6.4. MariBank (and/or its Affiliates) will not be liable or responsible for any injury, loss, damage whatsoever or for any charge, cost or expense of any kind whatsoever suffered or incurred as a result of or in connection with participation in this Promotion. Without limiting the foregoing, MariBank (and/or its Affiliates) shall not be liable or responsible for any undelivered, misdirected, corrupted, lost or delayed text, email, transmission or transaction or any delay or failure in posting any transaction or accessing any of MariBank’s online banking services or the MariBank App or third party applications, howsoever caused.
6.5. Unless otherwise stated, this Promotion is not valid with other offers, privileges or promotions.
6.6. In the event of any inconsistency between the Promotion Terms and Conditions and any brochures, marketing or promotional materials relating to the Promotion, the Promotion Terms and Conditions shall prevail to the extent of such inconsistency.
6.7. The Promotion Terms and Conditions are to be read together with MariBank’s prevailing General Personal Banking Terms and Conditions; the Terms and Conditions Governing Mari Savings Account; the Terms and Conditions Governing Mari Invest Account; the Privacy Policy and any other terms that may be relevant in connection with this Promotion (collectively, the “Standard Terms”). In the event of any inconsistency between the Promotion Terms and Conditions and the Standard Terms, the Promotion Terms and Conditions will prevail only to the extent of such inconsistency.
6.8. A person who is not a party to the Promotion Terms and Conditions shall have no right under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 2001 to enforce any of the Promotion Terms and Conditions.
6.9. The Promotion Terms and Conditions shall be governed by the laws of Singapore and each participant in the Promotion irrevocably submits to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Singapore.
6.10. Except where the context otherwise requires, words denoting the singular include the plural and vice versa.
6.11. All information is correct at the time of publication.
Deposit Insurance Scheme
Singapore dollar deposits of non-bank depositors are insured by the Singapore Deposit Insurance Corporation, for up to S$75,000 in aggregate per depositor per Scheme member by law. Foreign currency deposits, dual currency investments, structured deposits and other investment products are not insured.
