The Customer Knowledge Assessment (CKA) is an assessment to determine if a potential investor possesses the relevant knowledge or experience in unlisted Specified Investment Products (SIPs). Find out more about unlisted SIPs here.
How do I access the CKA?
As a first-time investor, you will be automatically prompted to take the CKA before your first buy order of Mari Invest Income.

How do I pass the CKA?
To pass the CKA, you need to meet any one of the following criteria:
a) You hold a diploma or any higher qualifications in any of the following: accountancy, actuarial science, business/business administration/business management/business studies, capital markets, commerce, economics, finance, financial engineering, financial planning, computational finance and insurance. Professional finance-related qualifications would also be considered, including but not limited to Chartered Financial Analyst Examination (by the CFA Institute, USA), Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) Qualifications.
b) In the past 3 years, you have made at least 6 transactions in unit trusts or investment-linked insurance policies that are classified as Specified Investment Products (SIPs).
c) In the past 10 years, you have had at least 3 consecutive years of working experience in any of the following: development of, structuring of, management of, sale of, trading of, research on and analysis of investment products, or the provision of training in investment products. Work experience in accountancy, actuarial science, treasury or financial risk management activities will also be considered as relevant experience. The provision of legal advice or possession of legal expertise on the above mentioned areas under (c) also constitutes relevant work experience.
What happens when my CKA expires?
You will be prompted to renew the CKA if the 1 year validity period has passed. If your CKA expires, payouts from unlisted SIPs will be credited to your Mari Savings Account, even if payout method is set to 'Reinvest'.
What can I do if my CKA is unsuccessful?
You can review your CKA responses to check for accuracy, or explore other products which do not require a CKA prior to investment. If you have obtained the relevant knowledge and experience, you can re-attempt the CKA in two ways:
