Why am I unable to apply for Split Payment even when I have selected Eligible Transaction(s) that has/have a total transaction amount of at least S$50?

If despite selecting Eligible Transaction(s) that has/have a total transaction amount of at least S$50, you are unable to apply for a Split Payment Application and you encounter the following error message:

“An application for Split Payment must be for Eligible Transaction(s) which has/have a total transaction amount that is at least S$50 and cannot be for an amount which exceeds the transaction amount of the Eligible Transaction or the total transaction amount of all Eligible Transactions, as the case may be, less any Excess Amount(s), as determined at the point of time when the relevant Split Payment Application is submitted. All capitalised terms are as defined in the Terms and Conditions Governing Split Payment.”

Please note that this is because a Split Payment Application cannot be for an amount which exceeds the transaction amount of the Eligible Transaction or the total amount of all Eligible Transaction(s), as the case may be, less any Excess Amount(s), as determined at the point when the relevant Split Payment Application is submitted.

Excess Amount means any of the following, as determined at the point of time when the relevant Split Payment Application is submitted:

- Any payment in excess of the Statement Due;

- Any refunded amounts of Mari Credit Card transactions, whether the refund is in full or in part, that are posted to your Mari Credit Card Account after your latest Card Account Statement date; and

- Any amounts that are posted to your Mari Credit Card Account after your latest Card Account Statement date because of any waiver granted by us.

For example, S$100 was billed to you in your Mari Credit Card outstanding balance last month and you made a payment of $120. The $20 overpaid amount will be used to offset any newly-posted outstanding balances in the upcoming month. For the purpose of a Split Payment application, it will constitute an Excess Amount as defined above.

If you have 5 Eligible Transactions each amounting to $100 and you would like to apply for a Split Payment, the total transaction amount you may select is S$480 (total transaction amount of all Eligible Transactions of S$500, less the Excess Amount of S$20), as determined at the point of time when the relevant Split Payment application is submitted.
